INTRODUCTION > HISTORY

Established in April 1964. initially offered two years Diploma in Commerce. Main campus was constructed in 1976. Upgraded as  Governnment College of Commerce in 1979. Two years Bachelors in Commerce (B.Com) started in January 1980.

In 1983 Ninety Kanals of Land was allotted to the college by the Government of the Punjab for the construction of Boys Hostel, Staff Colony and Playgrounds. The construction of College Mosque started in 1983 on self help basis. In 1994 a separate academic block for B.Com classes was constructed.

Master in Commerce (M.Com) started in 2003. Coaching classes of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) started in November, 2004. To cop with increasing demand in commerce education TEVTA decided to start Non-Subsidized classes in the afternoon for those students who were otherwise unable to seek admission  in the college due to higher merit and limited physical resources.

In the past four decades thousands of students have passed various courses offered by the college in they are now serving the nation at various managerial levels in public and private sector organizations.

Currently the construction of an Information Technology and Post Graduate Block is in progress.  Inshallah after its completion we’ll be able to offer better academic facilities to our students.

At present over 2100 students are enrolled. Being a learning organization we always try to change and update ourselves along with the changing trends and needs of the Job Market.
